The properties of linen

Linen softens over time. It holds warmth without weight. It is the material that asks the least of you.

Moments

4 min

The hour before the day begins

The specific quality of a room at dawn — before it has been used, before anything has been asked of it.

Moments

5 min

The last hour around a fire

The fire has settled into embers. The conversation has become comfortable silence. No one is in any hurry to leave.

Fragrance

Fragrance

Spaces

On the kitchen as a room worth considering

The kitchen is the most functional room in a home. That is exactly why its atmosphere matters most.

People

The person who keeps a single candle burning

Not for the light. Not even for the smell, exactly. For what it does to the room when everything else is still.
